I LOVED the honor bands. in PA we had districts, regions, and states, and we could go to All-Eastern if we qualified through a series of circumstances.

Hehe we had the same set of honors bands. I was accepted to all state jazz band as 3rd trombone at one point, but had to decline because the concert was when i would be out of country on a competition for marching band >,<

And I play the Trombone...still am...actually if i can, im going to try to get the recordings from our last jazz concert and post them...i have a few solos in there. :P

also, the All east jazz band was almost all the same people

I went to all state chorus 3 times and went to All east.
I don't want to sound braggy though

I'm still in our collegiate marching band and it's amazing as compared to my awful highschool one

lol yea, NJ had a nice program as well...i just didnt find out about it till my junior year and wasnt ready for it...
I just recently started singing in a group...and i have learned that if i had better trianing earlier, i would have a great solo voice...but because i have never done anything with singing other than my own, its not great for soloing. But apparently i have a great blending voice..at least thats what my choir teacher tells me as the reason he put me in our highest choir as my first choral experience ever >,>

All-States is a tough gig to get wherever you are. Congratz on making it up there. I made all state concert band and all sstate wind symphony once each and jazz i made, but couldnt do unfortunately...>,< i love playing jazz...

I wish we had a marching band at my college...but we just dont have the right size department for it

hehe yea i will keep working at it...a bit hard cause i killed a high octave by singing camp songs in falsetto so much at camps that i worked at...i can do a lot to manipulate my voice tho still...lol for example, my "Happy and you know it" meme...apparently i need to make a visit to Barney and Friends :P

HAH I've only just started listening to the beginning and it already sounds better than us. :P

Your hornist didn't crack in tone with the solo like I did! Then again you guys took it slower there.

Your ensemble blew us out of the water. :P

lol it was pretty good. I liked the intonation in your group better. High schoolers just dont have that sense of intonation that you develop once you really are playing with a good group. I really hope to play it again some day to get a newer perspective on the piece.
