Every year I am commissioned by the NCC to illustrate the cover of their annual report. This year, I wanted to try something different... instead of limiting the image to the front cover only, I wanted to have a picture that encompasses the cover of the book.

Based off the image of a painting I had done earlier this year- but is too big to scan. The one I painted has the same composition, but Binesi's entire wing is present, and not cut off.

I have no idea when I became so fond of of him... but I know my Medicine Man had something to do with it. He had acquired the Thunder People to help in his Medicine, and when I went out West, it became more of a prevalent story to follow me. Including bridging a cultural gap between the Chinese, Ainu, and NWP Oral Traditions/Symbols.
Either way, I love him, his stories, and it drives my mom crazy when I jump up and scream "BENESI-WAG!" every time we hear thunder.
