So I figured for animating an actual 'something' I'd start with something 'simple', in this case a huge roiling sun, but of course nothing is actually that simple in 3D!
Had to learn lots of little tricks about how to cheat to a camera and creating the various subtle but cool effects.
Just wish I hadn't had to re-render several times to fix the mistakes!
