EDIT: Oh man. I just remembered these ref sheets existed. These are HORRIFICALLY OUTDATED, fyi. I've change a lot about these guys since these were made (especially abilities), and these sheets are full of wrong/outdated information. If you are drawing a rathmar, please do not refer to these refs.
I'm finally posting a series of reference sheets for my made up species, the rathmar. There are 5 in total. In case if you can't read my god-awful handwriting, I'll be typing up any information from the sheet below.
This is the last one!
Rathmars: Varieties.
Over time, the rathmar species has adapted to different environments. The evolution of different rathmar groups to different climates has led to sub-divisions in the species, with different coat color and lengths. The three main sub-divisions are: Standard forest, arctic, and tropical. Because human expansion has forced the rathmar species to keep moving (with individuals often moving long distances, multiple times in a lifetime), most rathmars today tend to be a mixture of two or more sub-divisions. Still, by observing a rathmar's coloration and coat length, one can get an idea of its heritage.
Standard Forest Rathmar: The most common variety of rathmar. They generally are found in natural hues, such as browns, black, grays, and greens. They are often striped, spotted, or flatly colored. Their coat length ranger from very short, to somewhat shaggy in colder climates.
Arctic Rathmar: Found in extremely cold climates, these rathmars are easily identified by their very shaggy coats. They are the largest and most muscular variety of rathmar. They are almost always white and flatly colored, sometimes striped. If they have marking, they are usually blue, green, or any other light hue. they usually have blue eyes.
Tropical Rathmar: These brightly colored rathmars are found on tropical islands and in rain-forests. They are responsible for much of the color variety in the modern rathmar species. They have short coats, and can be virtually any color, often with unique markings and other features, such as forked tails, mohawks, etc. They tend to be slightly smaller and leaner than the standard forest rathmar. Today, there are very few pure tropical rathmars left, but tropical characteristics can be found in many rathmars.
If you actually read all of these sheets, you deserve a medal of honor. Really. Pointless information overload o.O
None of the rathmars in this sheet are actual characters of mine. I just kind of made them up as I went along. I must say, I dig the arctic d00d.

He's happy because he's yellow :3
Oh god this is painful to look at. SO MUCH ANATOMICAL FAILURE.
I really have to redo these sometime. Not only have some things changed (I'm strongly considering getting rid of their shapeshifting ability), but I left out so much as well (life span, location, number in the wild, etc.).
