Not entirely true, there were the modified Land Rovers with guns all over. That was freakin' cool looking.

Partly because Men of War has one of them and I love(I mean, really love) using it for ambushes(hide behind bushes, wait for tank(it's equipped with a small 37mm AT gun iirc), shoot the flanks, drive away and repeat elsewhere).

I'm finding remarkably little photo reference online quickly. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/121/.....10cbc9dd95.jpg are some re-enactors, and http://farm1.static.flickr.com/121/.....10cbc9dd95.jpg is an actual period photo of one of the modified trucks; technically the LRDG wasn't the SAS, but one of the groups that eventually became the SAS, if I'm remembering my little Osprey guide right. Tamiya and other companies make a b'jillion models of trucks and jeeps modified to pretty much bristle with guns (and smaller, bulletproof glass windows on jeeps in Europe), and I always thought that was cool.

You know that 1) technically he was in the Navy at the time and 2) actually, he was involved in espionage at the time. Jon Pertwee was freakin' badass.
