Dez didn't know who she had pissed off to get stuck counting the bad deeds of people in not one but THREE states of the universe. Sometimes the living beings would be all colors of skin tone, then they'd be a mix of skin and fur, scales, or what-have-you, and then everyone is covered in fur and such. But each time they're living different lives, not to mention she usually takes up a shift or two in alternative timestreams for the same people. One day they're a selfish office worker that runs red lights and doesn't go the speed limit, and sometimes they're just a tavern owner in some world with dragons and magic. She often wondered who got the job of the lifeforms across the other ends of the universe and if their job, but didn't worry too much because she hardly had to deal with them. Sometimes she'd bump into her coworkers in their half-animal or full-animal states if the shift she took was in a universe state that had such intermingling. She also didn't know why she couldn't just be an incorporeal cloud of red smoke, but was usually reminded that every now and then they'd have to intervene personally, which was one of her least favorite things to do. Living beings were just so...well, she couldn't find the right word, but if she could generalize she'd use every adjective. But every once in awhile she'd get to meet some interesting people, even if they weren't her charge to oversee. She'd been in the company of suave corsair captains, gruff smugglers, and even the odd conflicted spy or two. The perks of her job weren't so bad either, being that everything was practically free, except for time off, which usually led to choice paralysis as the entirety of all existences could be her vacation spot. But she couldn't complain, after all, it was good to be bad.
