Eh, I'm with the platypus on this one. For certain actions there is a moral event horizon where once you cross that line you are firmly evil. Defending outcome based on personal circumstances IS just trying to justify their evil when it is in fact irrelevant. It doesn't bring back the dead or the harm done to the victims. Only you control your own destiny and regardless of circumstance YOU chose to cross that line and become the monster.
