OrinJMaster used his skills on a couple of my heroes, including Captain Kid here. It actually makes sense for his board to be darker, now that I think about it, or would something bright an shiny be better for, like, deflecting lasers or something?

i actually wanted to use a different sketch you did of him, but couldn't find the one's you did the color keys in. so i couldn't do the idea i had in the first place.
i still feel like i got the shiney jacket and helmet wrong.
as for the board, i just made it look like a skateboard. that's just the grit on top to make sure it doesn't slip under the feet. not that this piece holds up to close inspection.

Actually, most skateboard are dark on top, because they have to to have a rough surface to grip onto (texturally, its similar to sandpaper). If it was smooth and shiny, he'd constantly be falling off.
having the *underside* where the wheels attach be shiny would be fine, as would the board having the ability to partially pull back the darker surface to reveal a shiny central area for reflection would work, too (The later giving the advantage of further widening the surface area, and thus the area it protects)
