Given what happened last time they wanted to send a team through and who/what came back after what happened, I think they're better off not messing with the Black Idol thing and just keeping it under lock and key. Though, admittedly, knowing what's on the other side now to assure that nothing else come through unexpectedly is reasonable.

true this was the same rationalization that they used for Star-gate... but your right.. If it where up to me Let it freeze solid and spray it with Silver-nitrate powder and call it a day.. Or powdered Silver...
