So this artwork is a bit late to be posted on Fur Affinity, I kinda forgot about fur affinity in my recent rush to get things done.
So it seems about every 2 years, I tend to change my appearance. I've kind accepted that I am ever evolving. While my species may be lucario, my appearance is slowly going away from the vanilla design.
So in my recent design change, I did a few things. I realized that before, my design was a bit too complex for people to draw me. So I focused on streamlining my appearance.
First off, my mask pattern has been simplified, no longer does the back of my mask split into 4 strips. Now it bleeds down onto the chest area and wraps behind the head. The old pattern is referenced but not added back by the changing the ears to white. Between the white ears and the mask is a strip of blue fur and a little bit of blue fur making a notch in the side of the white on the ears.
The flames from my eyes prior covered a lot of details of the head, now they start out by coming from the eye vents to the cheeks, from there they jet out and point upwards. In a way it kinda resembles a blush and makes it easier to discern.
The two appendages that make up the bow behind the head have also thinned out to the size of the other head appendages to make it more obvious that the bow is just where the other two appendages went. This making it more obvious that they are holding the long ponytail together.
The neck fluff has been cut back to show off the neck and collar bone area a bit more.
The chest spike has been flattened down so fur now covers it.
The belt line is no more, with the waist and thighs now being two toned. The front is black fur while behind is blue, with the blue outlining the black in front towards the bottom of the thighs.
It's been made a little more obvious that the underside of the forepaws are skin with fur on top side, seeing that lucario lack beans on their forepaws.
Then another aspect that never really gets shown is how exactly my fire works, which is more of a living being hosted in my body. This elemental fire can't really take on much of a form, so the best it can do is look like a flaming serpent, thus the nickname it gets "fire snek".
I wanted to make an artwork of how I usually pop up in places, although couldn't think of any furniture to draw, so on the walls are the concept art leading up to this design change (not sure if it's really visible in the FA version). In the concept artwork you can see things like other angles and how the head appendages behind my head are usually set up.
This artwork has a lot of personality put into it compared to some of my others that references a lot of things mentioned in messages in places I often talk in.
