First in a series of twelve depicting my dragon characters from a pending roleplay website called "The Beyond".

I've drawn this series before. But I've had a desire lately to draw them again. I'm more likely to finish this because I don't have to worry about coloring them. This is what I call the "old parchment" treatment. An excellent visual effect in a fraction of the time.

Turaksmis "The Wave" is the only dragon of the group that can be called aquatic. Her body--wings included--is specially designed for life in deep water. The patches along her sides are bioluminescent, and with which she attracts her preferred prey of abyss-dwelling sealife. Special tendrils on her chin bob and twitch freely, further assisting in attracting prey towards her mouth. Her ribs contain two sets of lungs, with which she can stay underwater for over five hours at a time.

Her home is the vast ocean of the Barrier Wasteland, the surface waters of which are poisonous to all save the dragons. Turaksmis is the only creature in the Beyond that can dive deep enough to reach beneath the level of the poison, and make use of the niche of life in the abyss below. Her mouth, throat, and stomach can expand to allow her to swallow creatures up to half of her size. With this ability, she needs only to dive to feed once every few months. The rest of the time she swims the shallows of her ocean home, jealously guarding it against trespassers.

She has the ability to fly, but because she must keep her smooth skin moist, she rarely does so.
