If you guys remember the old artwork I got from
KelvinHailey back in early 2018. You'd remember Bryan as a slender wolf coaching the Gold Coast. Well... Let's just say that changed pretty quickly. XD
I've had to kind of retcon things to get Bryan to the shape I wanted him to be but let's talk about the story of his weight gain and how he went from being a slender wolf in 2011 when he joined the Gold Coast as a Developmental Coach to now in 2020 where he has been in the Head Coaching role at the Gold Coast since 2015.
Coaching can be a stressful thing. Long nights planning out your team, Games that go to the wire and trying to handle many of the tasks you need to handle as a coach like training, relationships with players and other coaches and trying to fit these tasks throughout the day can take a toll on a coach. Coaches tend to end up handling the stress in their own ways.
When Bryan was signed up as a development coach for the Gold Coast in 2011, He was only a few years away from being an active player so he was still pretty slender from his playing days but with a lot of meetings and a lot of late nights ahead of him. It meant a lot of food and not a lot of time to exercise as much as he'd like. It also meant a quite a bit of weight gain as the years went on. Bryan would be quick to go from slender to slightly overweight but it would be a bit of a climb until he hit his current weight in early 2019. He was quite large compared to his previous size when he got the Coaching Job but he would still grow throughout his tenue.
The Big Wolf might be the largest coach on the block now but Shadowolf has managed to work out a plan to help him workout. The wolf has worked up his fitness again but after years of eating loads, He is very likely to never be the size he was as a player again but Bryan is not that concerned about that. He's quite happy at his huge size. If he can keep his health in a good condition and keep his size, He'll be very happy being the Big Wolf running the show at the Gold Coast.
I don't know how good that story explaining it was but I needed to find an in-universe reason to explain Bryan going from one size to another. XD
The change was as simple as wanting my Coach version of Bryan to be more in line with my fursona version of Bryan who has grown quite a bit since that first piece of artwork. :P
I'll figure out a full canon reason soon but for now, Enjoy the great artwork from Pac of my now Large Coach.
