Definitely very happy :) It actually reminds me of the mood of some of the soundtrack to Final Fantasy 9 - or at least, it definitely has the fantasy-game feel to it. I love the inclusion of the harpsichord.

And the transition to the slower, majestic version of the same theme at the end is wonderful :)

I can tell you more about this one:
"Sunny" is not just a goofy, funny character... he's being worshiped by the humans of his world. They see him as their saviour... a "god" of some sort. So, I wanted his theme to be "normal-goofy"..... but also "majestic-godlike-epic" in some parts. In the end, it all comes down to the funny guy, anyway. ^^

The harpsichord was a very quick, spontanious addition. I'm glad you like it.

Around 1:15, it feels like it's a bit off tempo. Maybe the melody is a bit too early. Maybe my hearing's just bad.

Also, the bass makes the whole track feel just slightly tilted towards the right. Again, maybe just personal preference or something.

Love the keyboards at 2:30.

Well, there are some parts here and there, where the tempo is slightly off - though I have used a metronome. Fact is, that the marimba, the woodwinds (flute and panflute) and the percussion is not always easy to mix. And slight mistakes can easily be heard. But I like it. ^^

The bass is a "right side pan port"... I did NOT put it in the centre, because a contrabass (in an orchestra) can usually be found in the right corner of the room.

Yay to part "2:30", hehehehe. Also, the whole string parts make it sound epic.

Bouncy dragon music! Hehe, I've had in mind the Iksar theme for a while - I only can describe it as a variant on the Klingon intro in Star Trek II, the same percussion (what are those wood sounds?), maybe some whip cracks, manacle chain jangles - reminders of their slave origins. Drums of war, etc. Military march, but a sudden change of freedom, a creshendo roar of spirit, the beat of the song, "I AM IKSAR" comes to fore...!

It fits in 4/4 as you can imagine, just that I'm no composer.

The "wooden percussions" are called "Marimba". Though I failed to see the connection to the Klingon intro... in STAR TREK II are no Klingons!!! :P It's about "Khan"! ^^

But you named it: "bouncy" music. That's what it's supposed to be!

You know what this reminds me of Rep?

It feels like you are walking down the street full of people attending a festival of some kind with gaffers, music, and good food. As you walk you take in the sights before a gem catches your eye of a beautiful solo dance of a dancer of male or female.

You are so blow away by what they are doing you don't even realize they seen you and have taken your hand to where you can join them in the dance before you two kiss at the end with a crowd clapping their approval loud and clear.

That's the feelings I get from this Rep..

Das Musikstück gefällt mir wieder sehr gut. Es ist so beschwingt. Am Anfang etwas ungewöhnlich, aber durch die verschiedenen Arten der Musik, wird es aufgelockert. Ich kann mir den Charakter gut vorstellen. Es ist Dir wieder gelungen, eine Komposition zu zaubern.

Freut mich, dass es dir gefällt!! Das Stück ist vom Stil her eigentlich so gar nicht das, was ich sonst mache.

UND: ich sitze gerade (eigentlich "immer noch") auf der Arbeit... und komme noch lange nicht nach Hause. Aber dann hab ich deinen Kommentar gelesen und die kommenden Stunden sind irgendwie gleich viel leichter zu ertragen. ^^

Es war mir eine Ehre. Wenn was gut ist und es einem gefällt, dann kann man das sagen. Oder sollte man auch sagen.
Du machst mich ja verlegen. Es ist schön, wenn Dir dann die Arbeit leichter fällt.

Du sag mal, ich mußt Dich jetzt mal was als Komponist fragen. Mir persönlich gefallen ja Soundtracks und alles, was mit Musik zu tun hat. Also auch solche Kompositionen wie bei Dir. Woher bekommt man all die Einfälle? Stelle es mir schwierig vor, wenn man ein Thema bekommt oder einen Film und dazu muß einen dann was einfallen. Woher nimmt man die Einfälle? Kommen sie auch so wie bei einer Geschichte? Ich danke dir schonmal.

Hauptsache, wir erfreuen uns beide in irgendeiner Weise an dem Werk. ^^

Zu deiner Frage:
Die meisten Einfälle bekommt man entweder zufällig beim Arbeiten oder wenn man konzentriert danach sucht. Mit "suchen" meine ich, dass man sich Gedanken macht, wie z.B. welche Musik passt zu einem Schurken, was passt zu einem Wasserfall, einer Wüste, einem Helden..... usw. :D
Da braucht man immer ein Thema.

Was meine "Einflüsse" angeht: ich höre selbst total viel SOUNDTRACKS und daher bekomme ich viele Eindrücke und Ideen. Man nimmt das, was man toll findet... und versucht es dann ähnlich einmal selbst. ;)

Bei diesem Song hier war Folgendes vorgegeben:
1) Sunny ist ein liebenswerter Trottel
2) Er ist etwas flapsig und stolpert oft über seine Füße
3) Er ist etwas kindisch
4) Aber er ist auch eine Gottheit in den Augen vieler Menschen

ALSO wurde das Thema in meinem Kopf dementsprechend gebildet:

zu 1) lustige Musik, ein eindringliches Thema
zu 2) verspielte Melodie
zu 3) Instrumente, die man auch in Kinderliedern findet
zu 4) eine epische Stelle

So hat sich das entwickelt. ^^
Viele Ideen kommen wie bei einer Geschichte, ja. Aber man hat ja auch viele Einflüssen von allen Seiten, die auf einen einwirken.

Auf jeden Fall ist Dir diese Komposition aus all den Sachen sehr gelungen. Ich habe ja Respekt vor solchen Leuten, die es können und bei denen es sich dann auch noch fantastisch anhört. Danke für Deine Erklärungen. Es ist sehr interessant.
