I still have the scan window pop up, but it just says no items to scan. Automatic full system scans can be turned off, but I haven't figured out how to disable the quick scans completely. And I don't even remember what I did to stop it from scanning anything.
On my Desktop, I use Mcafee. I it find easier to control.
