When i look at art, i try to see with in. This captive me. And what i seen was what i think you wanted others to see. Within the art as if it was as real as you. This scale brings out much more then color. As if they are right there. To me its like he and i are in a room, talking of things or just getting into a good story.
Hooo sure, im not sure about the english names
Apply "multiplicar" to the layer and low the opacity
create a new layer under the drawing and paint~
If you feel it like "dirty" try to change the scales from grays to purple
