"While clerics gain divine favor and power through worship and devotion the favored soul is a chosen champion of a deity's cause. Just as sorcerers can wield arcane magic with no aid of a spellbook or years of training so too does a favored soul use divine magic with similar ease. While for good or ill a favored soul is bound to their deity in a way that even the most devout cleric could never understand.
Some of the favored souls often do not know where they gain their powers from and some actively resent being doted on by the divine. "
I'm just looking for a reason to draw sad angels in the snow (even though favored souls don't actually sprout wings until the 17th level) and fulfill the D&D geekery content. The symbol in the middle is the one of the Sovereign Host pantheon Goddess, Dol Arrah; Eberron campaign setting.

Never try to use semantics and details to justify a basic concept.
This piece turned out great even without knowing all the details behind it.
That said, the extra info is kinda cool too.
I like how the character is left to decide for themselves whether they like what they are or not.
