One of the things I wasn't happy about the old wings was that they didn't have any muscle definition. That is what I added to the new pair, using some pink packing foam that was sculped and taped to the arm (looks kinda kinky, actually...)
The comes adding the skin, my least favorite part. After what felt like 20000 hours with a gluegun, scissors, knife and plastic, one wing was done. Next up, finish the other wing and paint them both.

I'm not 100% sure exactly what type it is (I found it in a shed at a friend's house which he let me have), but I believe it's made from polyethylene and is 6 mil (.15mm) thick. This is most likely what it is:
