Next, long and boring episode where Zekra uses a medical organ printer for pranks and Arqeez does... pretty much nothing. I should give him more to do the next episode. Also, there's some delicious imagery of alien chunks and rotting corpses.
Local time is a standardized, relative time measurement, where a day is separated into 80 units, starting at midday.
Next episode will take extra long, because I will write ep. 10 first, due to there being a few events that kick off a prominent, overarching subplot and I'll need to see what I need for and have those featured in the episode before. Or episodes, if I can't get them all in, moving ep. 10 to 11.

Once again, the story went in a totally unexpected direction for me, which is always a welcome thing. It was also nice to finally see another Serkanian to be used in it, even two for good measure!
I loved the details that did not have any importance plot-wise, but were there just for sci-fi geekery, as the military ship in the beginning, which was definitely based off aircraft like B-2, F-117 and SR-71. The descriptions of the architecture also added to the general feel of the place.
Zekra being detained just for belonging to a certain species seemed kind of racist in human terms, but absolutely logical from the law enforcement's standpoint, as there would be only so many Serkanian G-types in the immediate area. Still a lazy measure, though, as it was confirmed by the Judicator later.
Speaking of which, the universe was very lucky that these creatures had a logical mind centered on fairness, and not other way around.
The thief character is a very remarkable one. At first, I thought that the story will be about solving this case and bringing the criminal to justice to the shame of the local police, but of course the plot had to go in a totally different direction. I enjoyed ger design very much and thought that it would be nice to have Serkanians as playable characters in a video game. Or other A to Z aliens, for that matter.
Arqeez's upper arm served as both a continuity detail between previous episodes, and as a plot device.
The appearance of Teijune was quite unexpected, too. I thought there will be no way of getting two new Serkanian characters at once. Rer backstory was a pretty believeable one for the strong and warlike R-types.
After all the things set up, it was pretty easy to guess that the printer will be used to make some sort of a decoy, although I didn't think that it will turn out to be a whole body. I understand that it was never meant to be alive (as a whole), nor was the printing program set up that way, but otherwise printing a live individual seems to be not a technical, but rather a moral issue in this universe.
The only improvement to this whole operation I can think of would be reporting the body deliberately, as it could decay before anyone else would have noticed it. However, this could raise suspicion towards the familiar faces, so maybe it was risky either way.
Despite being kind of an asset rather than a protagonist in this particular story, Arqeez did grow nevertheless, from never questioning the reality around him to the willingness to know the truth in order to stay in the loop. The scene of Zekra explaining gerself to him was equally touching.
Overall, the story is quite satisfying and well laid-out.
Other honorable mentions include: sexual jokes (including Arq being himself), aforementioned technical and medical details, funny moments, descriptions of the locations visited, and of course, the illustrations which are becoming better and better throughout the episodes.
As always, looking forward to reading further episodes, even though it will take longer to write two of them at once, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

That's great to know! One of the thing I was kind of afraid of was the plot being too straightforward and predictable this time.
I had to look those three up and yes, that was the idea. I have seen a few videos where realistic space combat was thematized and thought that stealth technology is probably the most important aspect if deadly lasers out of nowhere are the main hazard. It's mostly a worldbuilding tidbit for now, but one future episode will significantly feature one planet's military. It also might or might not be the Judicator's ship.
The original idea had the police being way more incompetent, but that appeared way too absurd for me. But yes, the basic policy is to check every g-type in the city, especially those leaving it. AIs analyzing the surveillance recordings can easily tell the individuals apart by the stripe patterns.
Other way around, as in illogical mind centered on unfairness?
PFF, that would be a buttload of work, as apparently the reason why the Mass Effect aliens look so boring is that it was easier to have them share their armatures and animations.
And fully unintended at first at that. Originally, I wanted it to be a secret job entirely, but that posed the risk of the cell cultures being discovered, then I remembered there was a certain detail that could be exploited.
Well, the biochemical profiles of Serkanians and Eshke's lifeforms are very similar, hence there is a sizeable population of them living there. And that's why the decoy was being consumed by local scavengers.
I think it would be possible to print a whole living body by lowering the temperature enough for the cells printed first to survive through the whole process, but there's still the issue of integrity and lack of proper neural connections, so the result would still be a mess unlikely to survive for long. But it's certainly viable to print a living organism like a plant.
Indeed it was. Originally, I was thinking of having Arqeez cooperate with the police and aid them in search for the thief with his sense of smell, or the two claiming to have seen the murder which led to the river being searched, but as you mentioned, too much suspicion. Sooner or later, someone would have found the bones and a DNA test would have confirmed the identity, though.
Well, he's still not questioning much, it was more that Zekra constantly avoided his questions and ger answers didn't match ger behaviour. Also, this time it wasn't about big, complex rocks that can fly, but a matter concerning his own life.
Yeeep, the sex jokes did get dished out quite a lot here. Seems whenever I'm dissatisfied with the plot, I'll compensate with more detailed descriptions and horniness.
That's good to know, but the increased image quality goes along with increased time of their production. Well, I do hope I can speed it up a bit with time.

Or evil genius mind seeking to subdue and enslave all of the galaxy. Or just to kill everyone in the way with their powers because of some kind of twisted religion of God creating them in His image and all other aliens being a blasphemy.
