I remember that they E3 was on the "dead week" of school. The one after classes technically ended and the one before the finals started. So I watching it on the teacher's PC while the kidoes were doing some exercises to kill time XD and the news I liked the more was the announcement of New Super Mario Bros. Wii even if the press and Nintendo didn't give it much importance..
one year and 14 million copies sold later is obvious now which one was the real showstopper after all XD

I still have to finish that game, but it sure is awesome! Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M are just around the corner now too! I know it sounds like those don't excite you but yay!! I can understand if you don't care about Metroid if you don't like Zelda though since the flow of both game series is actually very similar (explore then find more stuff to be able to explore more).
Super Metroid is probably the greatest representation of the series. The Prime series is different be keeps the exploration feel. I don't think anyone but Nintendo and Team Ninja knows what Metroid: Other M is going to be like. The control scheme sounds unique to say the least, but I'm still excited. In Metroid there's often lots of "they hid something THERE???" moments where secrets are revealed by bombing/shooting places you'd never expect. Sometimes missile upgrades or energy tanks are revealed by shooting a seemingly random spot on the wall/ceiling. It isn't required to find all of these and usually the map in the newer ones hints at secrets you need to find to progress (unlike the first one which has some pretty random paths to key places).
As far as SMG2 goes I like the idea of the cosmic guide because I'm hoping it will make it a truly challenging game for some of the stages. They don't have to hold back if there's a way to get a bronze star and move on if you're stuck.
I think I misinterpreted your comments about Windwaker and OoT as not liking Zelda, whoops. I probably forgot all about comments about the others in the series you made sorry. Super Metroid is kind of like Zelda 3 without towns and melded with the style of Megaman, with one giant map divided into sections rather than temples/levels.

I think that news was for you something of epic; well, since they haven't released a new Super Mario in a lot of years, that reaction is natural
I would like to play that game but I haven't a Wii ; I wish they will make it for another consoles or for the PC but I think this is impossible because Nintendo do his games only for his console.

ROLF OMG!!!
I actually found out what some of the teachers in my school were doing on their free time. When you take a peak in their office... they look very serious and or hard at work in front of the computer. Now that I graduated, I thought of visiting some of my teachers... and I found out that some of them actually PLAY GAMES or surf the net while classes were going on. LOL... Behind the scenes XD But hey, as long as nobody gets hurt... or they get the job done... that's alright in my book XD Kudos Bob! And yeah... MARIO RAWKS!!!
