It was a simple afternoon on the beach in an undisclosed West Coast city, some years back. Young Coriander was on vacation with his family, Carissa Ray was spending the day with hers. When they bumped into each other at the outside shower on the beach, each attempting to rinse off before their respective families called them to their activities, they chuckled and shrugged it off, Coriander allowing her to wash off first. But Carissa Ray chatted with him, intrigued by this scrawny otter on the beach, shirtless, not trying to act too big for his shorts. They talked back and forth a little while, and exchanged email addresses. Coriander and his folks eventually retired to their hotel room, tired and packing to leave for their home the next day.
That night was the first of many long nights between otter and shark, IMing each other as much as they could. Carissa Ray was a star in her school; popular with all the right people, outspoken in the student council, and generally well-loved (as well as often doted-upon by unfunny, narcissistic meatheads in her class). Coriander, in comparison, kept his head down, studied hard, and tried to find a way to get his love of chemistry into his schooling. He wanted to become someone who worked in the field of medicine.
And his knowledge was soon put to the test, as Carissa Ray's father was one that was prone to getting sick a lot of the time. When Carissa Ray vented her frustrations to Coriander over IM, the otter boy offered a suggested concoction. Carissa Ray at first thought nothing of it, but then went ahead and made the mixture and gave it to her dad. It didn't solve his condition, but it definitely made his symptoms more bearable. Carissa Ray thanked her distant friend with the first glance at a topless girl he had ever seen.
After graduating, Coriander was accepted into a training program run by a biotechnology firm, where he eagerly learned about the study of medicine and how pharmaceuticals are made. Surprisingly, he also got an internship at a biotech firm on the coast, which he was eager to tell Carissa Ray. Imagine their collective surprise when they learned that Coriander's job would be in the same town Carissa Ray lived.
By this point Carissa Ray had already begun a small ham radio station talking about some of the local news in her town, which was undergoing a major infrastructure upgrade since the roads were all messed up and in need of replacing. Like, all of them. Carissa Ray kept her ears open for any issues in the project, and relayed this information to her fellow neighbors via ham radio, which earned her quite a following. Coriander, of course, was one of them.
After his six-month internship became a fulltime job, Coriander popped Carissa Ray the question. She said yes, they set the date for three months into the future, saw each other for two months, and then the news reached them of Coriander's job moving from the coast inland to Fortunopolis. Outwardly, they were devastated, since it would mean interrupting Coriander's work for coming back to the coast, since Carissa Ray's father couldn't travel such distances. When the family wanted to increase the amount of pomp and circumstance for the wedding, the two said "screw it" and eloped in Fortunopolis, where they've been living ever since.
Now, Coriander is still in pharmaceuticals, and Carissa Ray runs a local talk show involving practical information for locals (such as current closures, traffic issues, reported sightings of certain known "public nuisances") as well as interviews with local celebrities, including but not limited to big winners in the Fortunopolis casinos.
They both still love each other, still pine for each other, and still are very active with one another. When it comes to intimacy, Coriander learned earlier on that Carissa Ray loves taking charge in bed. And Carissa Ray learned that Coriander loves taking it in the tail. Cue the strap-ons and toys. They'll still only ever want to be that close with one another, but Carissa Ray's talkative nature makes Coriander sometimes think that she's trying to flirt with other guys. And Carissa Ray knows how to trigger Coriander's shy side, making him incredibly submissive and sometimes very easily teased. His femboy form isn't lost on many. In fact, there have been a few drunken nights when both have stripped down to bare fur and put on quite the show of feminine domination for whomever else was there, Carissa Ray sitting on a chair like a throne with Coriander, buzzed out of his mind, nude and resting on the floor in front of her, head resting on her thigh like a dog awaiting his master's order.
It's all fun between them two. There's no inkling of threat of breaking up, or seeing other people (in a serious manner), even if there are some friends and drinking buddies with whom they have crossed certain thresholds. All these two have for each other is love. And that's how it should be.
