One of the most important lessons one can learn when traveling through the Feth Fiada, those impenetrable mists that seem to perpetually cling to the highways and valleys of Breizh, is both one of the simplest and yet the most easily overlooked: Watch Your Step. The Imperial Roads of the Armorican Peninsula are often in disrepair, and one can easily twist one's ankle or break a wagon wheel on the uneven stone paths. The challenges are not all so mundane though.

Take the Kornikaned, the tiny winged Korrigan of the Forests. These territorial creatures create reservoirs of Magik as they dance below the moonlight, gathered in rings of mushrooms or menhirs deep within the forests. Even a seasoned traveler may overlook these wellsprings of power and step within them. Intent to defend their glamour, the Kornikaned have created a rather ingenious solution to deal with these interlopers that requires far less effort than the brutal assaults that they unleash on their enemies. When a human or similar creature steps into a faerie ring, they are transformed into Kornikaned themselves, shrunken down to size and disarming them of their large weapons, armors and other defenses. The intruder is quickly captured and brought before the Gladequeen, who pronounces their sentence. Some are let go, allowed to return to their former lives after a service is rendered. Others must remain in the tiny Queendom for longer times, often forgetting or declining to return when their sentence is up. Others ... well, let it never be said the Korrigan are not willing to take drastic steps to send messages to their enemies. Watch your step in the forests!
