When flying with firearms, what you can do is use hard luggage and a big, nasty, non-TSA approved puck lock. Travel like that, and you can even put valuable electronics in the same container.

Actualy it's practicaly impossible for an employee to snag the bag as soon as you report the firearm in it because from right there the bag is tracked every step of the way including who handles that bag....

I still worry about small hard cases getting snagged out of bigger luggage at some point during the process.

That only happens if the contents of the case wasn't reported in the first place which is a stupid thing to do in the first place....

This somehow reminds me of Fear and loathing in Las Vegas, the only thing are missin here two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half-full of cocaine and a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers.... A quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls =) lol
