This is Prince Hadar Crow Harpy. Crow describes his coloration since all harpies are harpies. However roosting hierarchy does exist.
My version of Harpies is loosely related to Piers Anthony Harpies from the world of Xanth. ( Which is conjoined to our current world ) And since Iolis's harpies are also loosely based from his too... lol they must be related! XD I base the body form more like that of Warcraft harpies though.
Harpy history and culture as related to Xanthian Harpies....
Long ago there was peace among the Goblins and Harpies. Both lived within the cliffs of mountains and canyons... however both began to over populate the caverns and a war broke out for more space. Many male harpies had died during this battle leaving so very few left in the world.
From having so very few males the females had to come up with a new way to cope. Males became picky and chose only the prettiest to mate with so the more lovely the female the higher in rank she was. The less interesting the lower. However solid colored females could still gain a rank if the male enjoyed her song. Often times the obviously lovelier ones would peck and shoo away anyone obviously lower then themselves to make sure that the lower female didn't have the chance to prove herself with her song. Rivalry is vicious among Harpy females. Males however hardly do anything for themselves. Grooming, feeding, and anything they desire the hens did or give him. They were the prized gems of the harpies. Any coloration on a male didn't matter as long as they could mate. A male who couldn't preform either had to be crafty or get kicked from the nest.
Harpies eat anything they can catch, except goblins which they simply attack on sight.

hmnnnnn anything else I could/can mention? .... um yah his coloration is crow... so it's title name color Harpy. Males are either Prince or Outcast. I haven't thought of hierarchy for females other then "princess" goes to the obvious favorite of a male. And as coloration is hard to name on a female it's not added to her name. Princess Helen Harpy. Outcast Hue Eagle Harpy. Prince Howard Cardinal Harpy. There really shouldn't be a male peacock harpy as it's the females that need to be so colorful. But it would make for an interesting male-male relationship thing I guess. XD Prince would be so confused! "Fancy meeting you here lovely!" "But I'm a guy! /blush" "Oh shi-!"
Hadar is mine okay. : O Mine. I don't care if you take the whole harpy storyline thing and make a Harpy of your own. Might be fun. : D
For fun I think a flock of Harpies should be called a murder just like crows! : D

Harpy coloration Hierarchy © Iolis. She's the first I've seen do that with the coloration thing. It makes perfect sense to me. :D But it was her idea okay!?
Male Hierarchy system © Mine yo... also cus it would make sense for the females to act the way they do with their coloration hierarchy.
Hadar © Mine. :D
If you want a Harpy of your own and can't think of a design commission Iolis ! She needs the money for schooling! : O ( I know how that is... college can suck you dry! )
These are her harpies that she's created:

You know it was after bed that I stopped and thought.. "No Wait Harpy Thyme was about a Goblin Harpy girl trying to find her perfect love... the one I'm thinking about that talks about Harpy males was much earlier in the Xanth series... " I can't remember the name but it was one of the major characters or something who goes to travel through the magic weave thing with a spider.. He's the one that caused everyone to forget the Gap Chasm... build Castle Roogna... and fight two Wizards at once. XD. I think it might have been the book called "Castle Roogna" (I'm probably spelling it wrong. XD )
Hadar is a fancy butt. 'I might not be colorful but I can wear pretty stuff to look important.' XD

For males... probably not.... But with females I think maybe. They have a complicated system since it changes often. Old females are looked up to for advise and stuff. Perhaps old males are kept too since they probably have sired a ton of the murder. :3 Soooo... Old is the middle class. XD Looked up too but not as important.
