You do know that Snorlax is already a Bear, right? It was made during the period of time where Pokémon didn't really look like the animal it was based on or supposed to be (like how Kangaskhan is a Kangaroo). It's based on when Bears eat a ton of food to fatten up in the fall then sleep all winter.
