So this just happened...
So I just finished bathing and washing my mane, I cam back into my room and just 30 seconds after passing through the door I hear some loud noise, and I notice the ceiling of the doorway coming sown. :(
I'm very lucky it didn't came down on my head, or I would be waiting for an ambulance right now, most likely. That shit is thick and heavy.
The good news is that the structure seems sound, it's only the plaster that apparently let go of the wall a long time ago and held up its own weight until it just didn't anymore...
I took a hammer to the parts that were still hanging on because it was only a matter of time before the rest would come down, so now I have an ugly but functional doorway and a huge pile of rubble and dust to clean up.
I'm just really frustrated because I live in a very old little house that is in pretty bad shape and badly needing renovation (The ceiling in the bathroom is also cracked, the roof is literally held up by two dozen wooden supports I placed under the rotten planks so it doesn't collapse in, the electricity system is fried and I get power via extension cables, wall tiles in the kitchen fell off last year... and I could go on.)... and there is nothing I can do because I can barely afford paying my bills, especially now with COVID having screwed up my family's income...
I could really use some good news...

Excitement isn't the word I would use, LOL.
I do love old houses, they feel much more alive and cozy, and there are lot of advantages too, eg. the thick adobe walls are better insulator than those fancy very expensive bricks they use nowadays, while made of mud, straw and dung.
I just wish I had the funds to properly renovate it. But the roof alone would START at around $30,000 and that assumes we pull all the strings and I'll be up on the roof myself, working.
