I wanted to draw a vent piece, but my hands feel heavy as lead, and this was all I could manage to put out.

I'm tired. No, tired isn't the right word. I'm wearied.

Work is going very poorly. The university opened a few weeks ago, and while Dining Services (my employer) had pretty strict COVID guidelines in place, the university itself didn't have any until the night before classes started. And unfortunately, they just are not (or CANNOT) enforce them. Students are partying, not wearing masks, etc.

Last week, the university alone had as many cases as the whole county averaged every week since March.

Half my unit's management is (as of yesterday) out either sick, or awaiting a covid test result before they can return. Regular employees are dropping left and right like flies because they're being worked to the bone.

I'm so exhausted. I'm trying my best to get some creative projects out there, but it's so hard. I can't quit my job or take reduced hours because I need the money, and I just feel TRAPPED.
