Took me a bit to realize what it was I saw when looking at this, but now I get it. This feels so much like I'm looking at a Shin Megami Tensei demon. Kinda perfect considering your description. Let the "masters" bargain with you to join them. Get them to trust you, then tempt them with your personal offerings.
