Princess Skysparkle is the proud mother of Prince Endearment. When Skysparkle looks at her son, she almost sees a reflection of herself -- and not just in his appearance. Endearment truly follows his mother's heart, and he values her knowledge and wisdom. In turn, Skysparkle values the new things her son has learned about friendship.
Skysparkle is not just a mother -- she is her son's best friend. And Endearment is her best friend! They never like to be apart for an extended amount of time. If they stayed apart for a week, they might come back crying to each other. When they are far apart, they can sometimes sense what is happening with the other. If one is happy -- if one is sad -- if one is in distress or pain -- the other may feel it.
When Skysparkle raised her son, she was determined to be a friend for him -- and make him be a friend in return. Her discipline is not about exercising authority -- except when needed to enforce the things that good friends do. His mother has given him millions of gifts, but he is not a spoiled child. Rather, she has made him share her generosity with all their friendly subjects.
With his gifts, Endearment has built his own Friendship Embassy. He has given homes to many people who had none, and he has helped found a number of foreign kingdoms, built on friendship. Endearment has outlived every family he has raised. But he is always finding new people -- of all races -- to adopt as nephews and nieces. Many were orphans; many were refugees; and many were just normal people who befriended him. Nightlight's family is part of that third category.

This sounds like it would be a great Mother's Day shirt for a mother and son to have. I could see it being worn as a part of a mother / son event, too.
Perhaps, at some point, you will be able to sell these shirts along with some insightful literature that talks about the characters while showing how it applies to the important bond between parent and child?
Another idea is to make it as part of a lithograph with character insight, mother and son macro-level elements, and a passage of scripture?

There could be a "Motherhooves Social" -- emphasizing mother-son relationships. It would emphasize the importance of mother figures in raising future father figures. Mothers and sons of any age are welcome. It might have started 600 years ago as an event sanctioned by Skysparkle and Endearment, as a way to help Endearment overcome outliving the first family he raised.
A "Motherhooves Social" could also function as an event for bronies to celebrate the importance of strong mothers in building strong fathers. This is one element, I'm afraid, My Little Pony has never truly explored.
Spike grew up with the concept of friendship, but he had to learn leadership mainly on his own. Thorax had to unlearn everything Chrysalis had taught him -- leaning on Spike to show him friendship. A great brotherhood forms between them -- in defiance of both Chrysalis and the Equestrian rulers (though Spike and Thorax quickly gain the favor of the Princesses). At least Spike got to have his own thread, learning how to build his own brotherhood of friendship.
Funnily enough, a number of commenters have said Endearment looks like a male version of Celestia. I didn't realize the resemblance would be that obvious -- especially with the different sex, colors, and hairstyle. Even so, I find him to be a very original character. I believe he looks as beautiful and delicate as possible without looking girly or emasculated.
As I noted, I already have this design posted on TeePublic. It's just a matter of people finding it and wanting to buy it. As for a book to tie into the shirt, I believe it would start with Nightlight and White Night at the Motherhooves Social -- alongside their own parents plus Skysparkle and Endearment. The story would explore how Nightlight and White Night didn't have great parental figures -- and how White Night found Skysparkle and Endearment to help them and their family. From there, Nightlight and White Night would learn the story of how Skysparkle and Endearment were inspired to adopt children not related to them. (Nightlight and White Night, of course, have never been adopted -- but they function as godchildren.)
A portrait of Skysparkle and Endearment might be adapted to look like a stained-glass figure. For a passage of Scripture, Proverbs 31 is a great candidate: "Words of Lemuel a king, a declaration that his mother taught him..." This chapter of Proverbs epitomizes the importance of a mother's wisdom and strength in raising a king.
