This female nile monitor at the San Diego Wild Animal Park was shedding. When my lizards at home are shedding, they bug me until I remove the offending piece of skin and scratch them. I wanted to do that to this little lady so bad! (The dark patch on her shoulders is what's shedding.)

I have always read that you're not supposed to help a lizard shed, but my water dragon is shedding and seems to love the help. Skin is just hanging off of him anyway. Now I know I'm not the only one sneaking in some shedding help. =P Nice pic. >^.=.^< Nile monitors get huge!
