A little fanart of an obscure furry fantasy classic that could've/should've been, with some liberties in art style taken.
Back in the very first era of Devianart, there was once a guy in Australia (I believe) named Ryanide. He created this project during the early-mid 2000s called Dendyn Dynasties, which from the looks of it, reminded me of certain franchises I got into at the time including Final Fantasy and Dynasty Warriors, and was obviously a cauldron-sized mixture of both. And it also had that semi-light-hearted and over-the-top high fantasy vibe that made feel excited wanted more out of it, even to this very day.
For those who don't know these fellas, from left to right...
Rygel: A fox who's a Royal Guard squire that fights with both a glaive polearm and a rapier with swift combat.
Sanura: A cat princess with a magical plant-sword thingy and a yo-yo weapon that I can only assume would be used as like a rope-dart or meteor hammer (trust me, I know my martial arts weapons).
And Locke: A dog prince/knight who's Sanura's male companion and a shield+sword specialist obviously.

So what happened to it, you say? Well....
Here's a funny story I like to add in to the mix. When I was watching Ryanide's Deviantart channel like a hawk back then, I took notice of him changing his focus to several different projects, one of them being a futuristic spin-off of Dendyn Dynasties called Dendyn Futures. I was feeling kinda bummed that Ryanide claimed to be focusing more on that project than DD, and I was on the comment section with something like 'Hey! You can't just ditch a great project like that!' And I started chanting “WE WANT DENDYN DYNASTIES! WE WANT DENDYN DYNASTIES!”
And then at least one other DA person chanted “WE WANT DENDYN DYNASTIES!” in the comments too. And Ryanide was like “SHUT UP! I'm working on these things, alright!” And then he disappeared from DA forever, and supposedly gave up on his projects to instead work on furry porn on Furaffinity, according to some rumors I heard about him decades later that is (so who knows if they're even true).
Whenever I look back on this, I can't help but laugh wholeheartedly at it. At how frikken STUPID I was back then! I literally thought that chanting on the comments section would help me get what I wanted, can you believe that! The poor guy must've dropped out on DA to get away from me. lol I find it as both hilarious and tragically my-bad (possibly, but I'm hoping it's not). Anyways, in order to make up for it, I made a long overdue fanart of Dendyn Dynasties in it's former glory.
Perhaps someday I'll add the other cast of characters that were planned for this long-gone but not forgotten project. And yes, a colored version of this will come soon.
