More done tonight on it..

I'm not sure if I wanna stick with this background... The treasure chest back there I like, but the cave opening I'm not so sure about...

Any suggestions?

Honestly, at first I thought the cave opening was some sort of moon reflecting on water thing O_O... and the cave walls were like the night sky O_O

As for suggestions on what to do... I think you need to make the subject (and stuff inside the cave) darker so that to show that they're somewhere without light... Well I'm not really a good artist so I dunno :P.

Yeah.. After what you suggest, I'm actually thinking of changing it to a lighter background overall.

Perhaps she needs her rowboat moored in the shallows with a couple of her crew standing beside it. When I see the pic as it is I can't help but wonder how she got into the cave with those chests.

I suggest moving her so she's not in the center of the pic, and keeping the cave opening where it is. Y'know, rule of thirds.

Its looking good in my opinion. My only thought would be similar to AsphyLem's, although it may make the pic more cluttered than it needs to be. Is the tail rubbing the gold too? If so, that's fantastic XD.

The cave opening is actually really cool. What I think you should get rid of is the boat. Or have it not so centered in the cave opening, if anything. Make it more subtle?

The cave'll become more obvious IF you intend to add color, I think.

Also, bats. :D
