Oh look, I made a Book cover version of https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38009314/
I figure the blurb on the back would go something like this:
"A solo mission to a feral world blighted by monstrous beasts, hostile tribes, and a ruthless warlord in order to save a fracturing planet from catastrophe… and all without his blaster?
Surely just a walk in the park for mercenary captain Fox McCloud?
Following on from “Fox McCloud: Lylat Warrior” and “Star Fox and the Ashes of War” comes the third instalment in the ADVENTURES OF TEAM STAR FOX series, this time exploring the thrilling events of the SAURIA INCIDENT: an event that would have nearly spelled disaster for the entire system, were it not for the actions of one group and their courageous leader.
Based on first-hand accounts, in-depth interviews and hitherto unreleased official reports, once again Piper Hare-Burrows, member of the famed NOVA FOX mercenary team, brings the adventures of her illustrious predecessors, TEAM STAR FOX, to light in detail never made public before.
So, prepare to be spirited to a land that time forgot as Lylat’s greatest hero battles terrible foes, clashes with Dinosaur royalty, outwits perilous traps in the ruins of an ancient civilization, and falls under the spell of a beautiful young woman from a mysterious lost world beyond the furthest stars.
Fox has risked his life before, but within these pages he will find himself wagering his very soul to save a planet... Just how much should a mercenary charge for that kind of service?"

Thanks. I'm not completely averse to porn but I do find it a bit saddening that that is the primary association these days, and not just on this site. Likely a result of there not being much official content with her in for a long time. As a result the smut-smiths have basically adopted her and crafted their own porno canon that has rather dwarfed the mainstream one.
Absolutely stunning work, Hazel. When I saw this on the subreddit, I was floored. I'm particularly nostalgic for old sword and magic aesthetic. The likes of Conan saw to that. I absolutely love this scene. Though I doubt you'd want it on the cover of your book, as it shows Fox having already triumphed over Scales, it'd no doubt be a spectacular piece of merch were this a reality. If anything, just replace Scales with a generic sharpclaw and have Scales off to the side or directly challenging Fox. I think having Krystal emanate some psychic energies in her hand would also add a lot to the mysticism, even though we've never seen her do something like that. Also, Fox is a beefcake! He was pretty bulky and fluffy in the game, but man does this really nail it. I like my Fox nice and toned with good muscle but not too much as it would slow him down.
Thanks. I certainly had the Conan theme playing on a loop at times while drawing it as it helped get the tone right.
I agree with your take if I were to publish it as a real book. When it was just fanart in the style of a Frazetta cover it did occur to me initially to make it a generic Sharpclaw, but then I figured Scales had a unique design worth depicting.
As an in-universe book, though, I think it still works as Scales’ defeat is likely as common knowledge in the Lylat System as the toppling of Saddam Hussein is in our world. The draw of such a book is less the suspense than the spectacle and the opportunity to maybe see the whole thing in a new light.
I knew I couldn’t do a shot like this justice without getting Fox’s shirt off, at least (Even if its accuracy may be questionable. I guess only those close to him know what the Fox is packing :P) Glad that athletically buff Fox gets your approval.
