This is an older drawing I made of my characters Joe Cupid and Jill Psyche, the Furry Incarnations of Love and the Soul, based upon William-Adolphe Bouguereau's painting The Abduction of Psyche.
At the time, it was one of my best works, but there are some things I would work on more if I ever felt like redoing it. Incidentally, it's also the first time I ever drew the two in a virtually nude state. Earlier drawings of mine kept trying to find a suitable set of clothes for them, but the stereotypical diaper for Cupid just kept looking more and more ridiculous. Later drawings of mine lacked the fluttery sheets seen here but so far placed something strategically in the way.
Addendum: 5/14/2010 This picture has now made it to Bouguereau Remastered.

Back in '05, I barely had the patience to finish this one. The shading especially took awhile. Nevertheless, I did try a handful of other pictures based on other paintings by Bouguereau as well as Jules Lefebvre and Evelyn De Morgan as well as one based on a drawing by da Vinci. Whether I finish them or not, well, as always, therein lies the question.
