It's also very late, so I can't think of a name, not that ones I do think of are all that creative anyway. But I digress, I had this drum beat stuck in my head for the greater part of a day, and this is the result. Xylophones and harps and oboes oh my!
Enjoy ;)

I'm using Finale 2010, which has included Garritan Instruments. That's where most of the realistic sound comes from. That and I master the music in Audacity, most importantly adding reverb. You'd be surprised how much reverb can improve the realness, and it's not hard to do at all.
Heh, well you can get Audacity here http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
And you can get the reverb plugin here http://i-zik.com/plugs/plugins/freeverb.zip
And if it doesn't work when you put the plugin in the plugin folder, you might need this here http://audacityteam.org/vst/
And the settings I use for the plugin are here http://recherche.ircam.fr/equipes/d...../examples.html Usually the "large room bright" settings
I also since Finale tends to have a low output volume, use Audacity to amplify the sound a bit. That's about all there is to it really.
Oh and, as far as Garritan Instruments goes, you're on your own, but you can get it if you're resourceful. That's what I do anyway, takes a bit of experimentation to get it working just right. *Hopes you weren't being totally sarcastic* xD

Truly brilliant, sounds like a battle theme for an RPG of some description to my eyes. You're a great composer and this is proof enough that I should watch you. Heh heh, I now feel honoured that you liked my Confronting Bowser piece, especially as I'm no musician.
I look forward to seeing more music from you.
