Princess Skysparkle loves her kingdom as a mother loves her children. Prince Endearment is everything she has ever wanted in a child. When she looks at him, she sees a reflection of herself -- and not just in his looks.
Skysparkle is 1008 years old. She is the main ruler of the Starpony Kingdom -- having ruled since she was 8. Her child is Prince Endearment, who rules alongside her. Endearment is 876 years old. He is nearly as ancient as his mother -- yet he remains a kind little boy at heart. Underneath it all, his mother has the heart of a kind little girl.
Skysparkle has given her son just about everything money can buy -- but she has never spoiled him. Every step of the way, she has made him show the same generosity that she has shown him. The love she has shown him, she has taught him to share with everyone else. With the millions of gifts she's given him, he has built his own world of friendship!
Skysparkle is a mother who wants to be our best friend. And Endearment is a big brother who wants to be the same. Prince Endearment is not just her son -- he is her best friend!
---
As one of the most ancient ponies, Prince Endearment has outlived every family he's ever raised. The first time it happened, he cried like a baby in his mother's arms. He wished he would have died in their place. Fortunately, his mother understood what he was going through. She, too, knows what it's like to lose a child.
As it turns out, Endearment has a lost sister -- but he had never been told about it before. Before Skysparkle had Endearment, she had a daughter named Skysparkle II. The first time Princess Skysparkle raised a child, she made some big mistakes. She mistakenly spoiled her daughter rotten. For many years, she couldn't figure out where she'd gone wrong.
"Sky II" made bad decisions that led to her untimely death. She died at the age of 80, which is considered young for an alicorn (or unicorn). The wayward child finally repented of her errors -- but it was too late to save her life. Skysparkle was mad with grief, and she would lash out at anyone who tried to calm her down.
Skysparkle's parents -- who were still around at the time -- had never lost a child. But they knew what it was like to lose their own families. Under the rule of Chaos and Disarray -- which Skysparkle helped to overthrow -- being scarred early in life might have been the norm rather than the exception. In the old world, hardly anyone understood friendship. Seth Appleheart feared to trust anyone, and Hope Unquenchable was even more terrified.
When Seth and Hope met each other, they finally found the courage to open their hearts. At first, they feared to have children. Seth was an earthbound pony, and Hope was an alicorn. In the old world, unicorns were a despised race of creatures -- and alicorns all the more so. Chaos and Disarray sought to turn all unicorns into glue, and most of their subjects seemed to agree. If Seth and Hope's marriage were discovered, both of them would surely be tortured and murdered.
In the end, Seth and Hope could not be stopped by the fear of losing. To miss their chance would be the greatest loss of all. In their children, they hoped somehow to find their way to freedom. Skysparkle has truly been the product of her parents' deepest hopes and wishes!
From their own experiences, Seth and Hope gave Skysparkle their special words of wisdom: They told her to open her heart to a new child. Only when she opens her heart to someone new can she overcome what she lost. The next year, Skysparkle gave birth to her son. When Skysparkle saw her new baby crying for her love, her heart opened up to him. She was determined that she would never let him down. Her broken heart was finally healing -- and growing bigger than ever!
Once Endearment realized he was a product of his mother's own lessons in life, he could not stand to disappoint her. Endearment wasn't ready to have another family at the time. Instead, he helped to raise orphans who needed homes. To this day, he continues to find wonderful children to be his honorary nephews and nieces.
Some of Endearment's adoptees have become important leaders. Some of his foreign adoptees have become leaders for some of their respective creatures -- making him literally the father of a few nations. These nations -- including one dragon kingdom -- have been safe havens for those escaping from oppression.
Skysparkle and Endearment have outlived nearly all their friends. Even so, they can rarely stay sad for long. With every friend they make, their hearts grow bigger and stronger. They have thousands of their custom stuffed toys -- representing all their good friends who have passed away. They have learned to enjoy the old memories -- and share them with others. And when they do have sad moments, it's like a sad movie with an uplifting message. After a good cry, they feel better than before!

Ah! So this is where the shirt design comes from? Quite awesome as, in both posts, we got some nice details that share more on Prince Endearment and Princess Sky Sparkle.
There is a lot of lessons to take from all the pair have gone through. One of which is knowing the true price of immortality. Fortunately their faith / friendship towards all creatures keeps them constantly looking for another generation to learn from and, when necessary, positively influence.
***
This makes you kind of think of how things would be if very important people, like Martin Luther King Jr., Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Moses had such long lives? Would their ongoing lives have helped to keep the world heading in a more positive direction?
It is known that, sadly, some dreams die, or get lost in mistranslation, when the one behind such a great movement leaves this mortal coil. If any did still live, I wonder if they would have been able to expedite a lot of much needed reforms towards equality and understanding?
***
Mankind's limited life does have quite a catch. Thankfully a lot of what God taught was retained through the years. It makes you see the importance of ensuring your ideas do not die with you.

God brings leaders and takes them as he finds fit. As he says -- "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." By the time Moses died, it would seem he'd had more than enough from the ungrateful Israelites. Other leaders were probably best removed while we could remember them in the best light -- rather than for their flaws.
My ideas don't die with me. Any wisdom I've had was there before -- and will be there after. What God has taught has not been forgotten. Everything crucial to the Bible, he has not allowed evildoers to destroy.
Presumably, Skysparkle and Endearment will last for as long as their world needs them. I have not considered any end to their lifespans -- but if I were to present something like "1000 years later", it might be implied that the old rulers finally passed away. Meanwhile, Nightlight, Honeymoon, White Night, and Starlyre are celebrating the 1000th year of their co-rulership. (By now, White Night and Starlyre would have also become alicorns -- alongside Nightlight.)
