The Zheng-Wang clan of southern china has a long and storied history, though most recently they were loyalists that were viewed as obstacles to Mao's takeover. The then grandmaster Hun Lo Zheng Wang held the red army off at the steps of the fortress monastery that had held his clan for nearly 40 days and 40 nights - only allowing himself to die from blood loss and a severe case of the "riddled with bullets" after the corpses of the red army began to cool on the 41st day. On the 42nd day the Communists raided the unguarded temple, to find no one inside. Chafing, the army left to report their "success" with the dissidents.

Later reports come to light that mystics of the Shaolin order had crafted an arcane spell of a mighty sort and made contact with an immensely powerful being - Myrrdin Emrys - who upon seeing the cat folk among them is on record as saying, "Why the hell aren't we taking them?!"

Fast forward a few generations Pei Pei is the great granddaughter of grandmaster Hun Lo Zheng Wang of the drunken kitten style of kung fu and is currently one of the most eligible bachelorettes of all of Haven, renowned for her beauty and grace and incredible talent as a martial arts prodigy.

That is until all the available bachelors of Haven get to know her and find her to be a beer swilling, shut-in, layabout who is only currently employed at the local monastery, an exact replica of their home left behind, and the martial arts school that Jezel attends whenever her mom wants her out of her hair. She's only currently employed there because her grandparents, Pen Pen and Po Po are currently out of town touring the states in their RV for their retirement.

Despite all of her many flaws she is legitimately talented and a fiercely devoted friend once you win her over, also she may have a penguin. Nobody is sure.
