Sally on a short break somewhere with lots of sun, sand and surf.

This is a test piece for a YCH that I’ll be offering once I’ve ironed out some of the kinks in the design and done some tests with other characters. I’ll probably offer a few stock backgrounds with the digital version (Islands, city, mountains, desert….).
I’m pretty happy with how this one has turned out, my only problem is with the sky, it’s a bit too scratchy, I think if I do more traditional ones I’ll use watercolours rather than pens for large areas of colour like this.

I used a mix of pens (Copics, Winsor & Newton, Sharpie, Pitt) the paper is 250gms General Art paper from W H Smiths which is pretty nice to use, it’s not quite Bristol Board but then what is?
