mhm its the only way I could get the maximum bass with out chopping. I still used para eq on the master but without limitation, there would have been retarded amounts of peaking and I didnt wanna sacrafice quality and 'fullness' for manual mastering :p (even though I still had to edit the levels of each instrument so that they werent to weird sounding)
Well, you could have avoided all clipping, and jumped through the individual levelling of each track by using the Maximus/Multiband compressor on the finished project :p But the limiter gave this song alot of character.
I dont know if it was intentional or not, but putting the limiter on the master track made the whole track sidechain slightly (not enough to be like "whoah wtf!?" just enough to sound cool).
The kick was just as loud as the combined instruments, and the limiter tried to make up for the gain by dropping everything immediately after the kick, and bringing it back up. Made everything sidechain.
= cool effect on the entire track + no clipping ^^

yes, this was completely intentional because orginally, ti would have had massive side chain, but i reduced the sound of the bass and some of the higher freq so that it would give it a little limititaion overdrive (As I like to call it L:3 ) which is kinda daft punk style in a way. :D
Also, i donthave maximus and the multiband compress wouldnt have sounded as fun X3

How would it have changed the sidechaining by reducing the bass? ~(tilts head)~ The sound causing the sidechaining was the kick (which sounded brilliant btw ^^)
Also, Maximus comes as FL Studio's default mastering tool.
The multiband compressor makes everything sound like shit by default. But if you play around with it, and know the frequencies you want boosted, then it can work wonders (My recent song "My Time to Go" was done with the multiband :p)
Mastering's in the eye of the beholder, and FL Studio gives the user two choices; Maximus, or Multiband Compressor
