pred attacks happen regularly, the Hillanders are fairly used to them. they got standard emergency protocols. especially paranoid Hillanders also carry emetics or laxatives with them at all times, since they're so small (and have no fangs or claws to speak of) most predators just swallow them in one gulp. which is both a good thing & a bad thing for the Hillanders...
