I think these are for working with ballast, not positive. they sat here a while. Two trains as well as these guys were piled up behind one signal.

Each one has a different job, Removal and installing of Ties, Removal and installing/with realignment of Track and Spikes and lastly packing of ballast

Youre right, the first unit, the one in the distance is a ballast regulator, used for shaping the ballast along the tracks. the other two are alignment machines, used to make sure the rails are at the proper level.

Hyrail? you can find a whole truck equipped for that if you look hard enough. that would be fun....until the train comes.

theres some dead rails around the out skirts of my town some even have dead 50's and 60's trains with cars sitll with them, just setting there in random spots doing nothing but roating away
