I've seen two roads taken in popular furry settings..
#1: The predator-prey cycle is accepted as a fact of life by both sides, and somehow a civilisation in spite of it.
#2: (my preferred version), furries co-exist with non-sapient animals who ~are~ used for meat and other animal-derived products.

Running some of the stories would probably work in generating interest in buying the actual book. That works for one of the sf book publishers, Baen Books.
There is always a danger in success: Too much interest might overload the server. One of the webcomics servers might be willing to run stories.
