They're all such a lovely family! Those cubs are very cute. One question, though: are the cubs at risk of the father lion attacking and killing them like male lions in the wild do? Or will he care for them since it's rather obvious they are his cubs?

No, males only kill cubs that aren't theirs. When a new male comes into a pride and takes it over, he will kill any young cubs that aren't his which, in turn, causes the females to come back into heat so that he can mate with them immediately and they will bear his cubs. This ensures that he's not babysitting some other male's children and that his own genes will be passed. The cubs are totally safe with dad.

*giggles* Yeah, all young lions have spots for that purpose, to help them blend in. They lose them, eventually, but it's not uncommon for them to still have a few even in adulthood.
