This came together so well it shocked me. Beisa, the Oryx, resting on some rocks with standing stones behind him, holding up some pendants. It will have significance to Kyian, who this is for, and I really hope he likes it. :)
I hadn't meant to use so much coloured pencil but this really just took on a life of it's own. In the end I think it came out much better than it would have if I'd really tried to control where it went! :)

This is the second awesome antelope I've found today... the first was a Black Buck (I forget the username nao :() This turned out really well and has an unusual mix of things to it, what with the African animal, Nordic pendants and somewhat Cornish looking background. Blends together nicely, definitely worth the effort with the pencils and those horns don't look too bad now.
Also, you am a poneh.

The details on the shinies really make them look, y'know, shiny, like they're really reflecting light. And I love love the highlighting on his tail and chest tufts. The blending on the knotwork is pretty dang sweet too, and is thiiiiiis that cottonwood paper you keep going on about in LJ? Because the texture is really, really cool.
Aww, thankyee! And. Yes, this is the WONDERFUL cottonwood stuff I have. :D Tora had a sheet, I LOVED IT OMG, and begged for more...ended up buying like a hundred sheets off of 'im and I adore it all the more. :D While it has a super-organic textured look to it, it's actually super-smooth, and really holds pencil AND marker really well. :D Best paper EVAR. <3!!!
