I think the snare's volume makes it more aggressive than mellow.

I like the melodies, but you seem to focus more on the drums. Maybe you could try making the drums, especially the snare, more quiet and get the melodies a bit clearer in the mix?

ahhh goodtimes, i remember this sample on Wrath Of The Math by Jeru! such a dope sample. i disagree with Kirbix's comment tho, snare is plump, raw and phat.. just how it should be in my opinion. The drums are my main focus in beats aswell, nothing more satisfying that a thumping kick, tight hats and punchy snare, so i enjoy this one alot man! dope stuff and keep it coming

the pops on the distortion loop you've got are bleeding in as hats, mebbs EQ out around like 2.5k on that track or somfin.
