Not much is known about this hero, his name and historical origins. He keeps telling all kinds of stories... over a pint of beer.... that goes right through him when he tips it.
What is known however is that there has never been a more steadfast fighter against injustice in a long time until he made his presence fully known. All signs indicate that in his day, 18th century most likely, he was a Robin Hood style figure, labeled by the carribian companies as a pirate because his actions went against their laws and sabotaged their businesses.
He has been witnessed to be controlling a massive, flying, ghostly galleon from his time period, even talking to a crew that isn't there. When asked about it, the spectral pirate laughed and said that the ship is the crew. Experts are still stumped by what he'd meant by that. What they do know is that, like it's master, the ship itself is very powerful, able to keep a sustained rate of fire from it's 40 plus cannons, shooting all kinds of different types of cannonballs, from standard ones - to the two chained steel bollas - to fire and grenade balls and so on.
Though he seems invincible being a ghost, he's vulnerable to magic and can be harmed by enchanted weapons and destructive spells. ACHILLES always has a few of those handy if he ever goes fully rogue. That has yet to happen though, and the "pirate's" good, adventure-loving nature seems to shine through at every turn.
