My version of the Hatter, requested by AutismMeister02468 on DeviantArt. Let me tell you, there were a number of times I thought of changing his hair color after Tim Burton’s movie came out, but I firmly decided that no, my Hatter was a redhead before Burton even announced his mediocre version, so I’m keeping him a redhead dangit!

It makes me think of this Hatter a bit, just doing this song and dance while working https://youtu.be/-SdGBMiUWsw?t=285 XD
I distinctly remember a version of the Hatter that was named Theophilus (if memory serves, it was from the book "Grin," but maybe it was a different book; I have so many it's hard for me to keep track), and I'm going to take a wild guess and say Martin is a reference to Martin Short?
Not sure about the rest of the names, at least off the top of my head. Maybe they aren't references to other Hatters? Or maybe I'm just forgetting a lot of them. XD
Sincerely,
The Cheshire Cat's Master

I'm sure there are a number of Hatters named Theophilus, and I'm certain their inspiration is the same as mine; the real-life Theophilus Carter.
Yup! Martin Short is my favorite Hatter actor!
To be fair, one name has no meaning, I only picked it because it sounded nice, two other names I picked for the same reason but retroactively found thematic connections, and the remaining two names are non-Wonderland references. I may or may not decide to reveal them someday, tee hee.

Heh, all fair enough. And I knew Theophilus sounded familiar! I can't believe the historical inspiration slipped my mind! (smacks my forehead)
And my personal favorite Hatter is Kate Shindle, but Martin Short is a good one, so I can't blame you there for that being your favorite. As far as "to the book" Hatters go, so to speak, he's definitely one of the most noteworthy and nostaglic.

Tee hee, someone on DeviantArt figured out a name, so I thought it only fair to share with you; "Emmannuel" is in homage to the Wizard of Oz, whose full name is Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs, which inspired me to play around with initials.
