Backstory :
Carmen was born and grew up in « The Rust Burrows », the name given to the district housing the ironworkers still working in the old foundries and other metal processing plants still in fonction in Topaz City…
She never met her mother ; Carmen grew up with her father Vincenze, ironworker, and her aun, Luella, a maid working for richer famillies…
Very early in her life, Carmen will be in an rivalry against her own older sister, Lita, that will always be « Daddy’s dearest ». She will then develop quite an inferiority complex, constantly trying to prove to her dad ( and by extension herself) that she isn’t weak and to get his attention.
It didn’t worked… and altrough Luella did try to confort the young girl, Carmen still felt bitter toward her own dad and sister…
Such a personality trait isn’t really healthy for a child so you can image how much worst it went while she grew up !!
Especially when around when she reach around 17, Lita was granted a large scholarship in exchange for moving to « John Lang’s Private University » , while Carmen was stuck doing odd jobs for rather mediocre wages…
No ! Not « Thoses ones » !!!
More like Food Delivery, House Cleaning, Dish Washing, Laundry… things like that…
It also didnt helped that her aunt Luella died during this period and her father was jobless, sucking on his own daughters’ money to sloth up at home, watching Sports and porn….
She couldn’t take it (and didnt take it for long actually) and decided to run away far from Topaz City…
After a short wandering, she somehow ended up at the Police Academy …
In a way, the harsh training of the Police Academy did somewhat channel her aggresivity into something better…
She ended up finishing Police Academy with excellent results in the physical and balistic categories ( there were some disciplinary and law-studies hiccups)
And in all irony, years later, Carmen ended up being assigned back in Topaz City’s Main Police Station !!
She actually saw back her dad after a short while, being quite desperate since Lita left him with no news and with a kid on his hands…
Carmen actually decided to tell her father to fuck-off and decided to actually take care of the child the best she could, being helped by the neighboors of her new apparatement….
A Couple of years passed with Carmen trying to balance her new job of being a cop ( and becoming one of the most hardened and impulsive member of the Force) and trying to be somewhat of a decent mother to the kid, named Tito….
Then, Her life changed !
It all started at Iron Fist, the largest corporation of Topaz City and one of the most reknown research labs in the world !
A formula there were working on, the so called « Project Colossus » were stolen ! Supposedly, « Project Colossus » was artificial hormone made to heal Muscular Dystrophies , congenital ones or the Duchenne one or otherwise…. It could have also helped cure Immunodeficiacy….
But the Formula were bootleged and modified by the criminal syndicates and organisations of Topaz City as a way to « improve » their henchmen forces and build new drugs based on it , giving birth to a new generation of monstrious gangsters and hooligans !!!
Carmen faced one of such mutants and almost get killed !
She couldn’t bare feeling so powerless agaisnt such abomination !!
So when the Police decided to team up with some members of Iron Fist to « augment » some members of the Force to make a brand new unit specialised against thoses Hulking Mutants, Carmen happily signed up !
She was transformed into a colossal mountain of muscles, tasked to fight other musclebounded giants as part of the Special Colossus Force !! (or S.C.F for short)
Such road isn’t easy to follow but Carmen is still decided to take, no matter where it end !

Here's a lil updated version of my character Carmen, going more in depth than last time and trying to be a bit more consistant and better told since I think I improved quite a lot in English since 2014...
I do wonder about going more in details about Carmen's hometown, Topaz City, and the unit she's part off, the so called " Special Colossus Force/ S.C.F" and how it worked...
Also, I do also think about developing Tito, Carmen's nephew, because the poor lil guy got even less development than Carmen herself and I felt it was a bit of disservice to leave him as just a footnote on Carmen's backstory....
