Xarok grew tired of monitoring his great-grandson, Crim the Dog. Attempting to marry the human, Joob, had been Crim's latest, greatest fiasco. But Xarok had put an end to it. Although Joob's decapitated corpse had mysteriously disappeared, Xarok had no fear of that mistake being repeated. Crim would marry a wolf; restore some honor to the bloodline, and that was that.
But that wasn't going to happen for a good while, Xarok knew. Crim was a flippant animal and there weren't many times in which he wasn't engaging in frivolous activity. And there were no captive wolves at the zoo, for they were much to powerful to be held by mere steel cages. Crim, not often straying far from his home was unlikely to even contact another wolf, much less court one.
So Xarok decided he would take a break and sail the seas, letting the four winds take him to places unknown. He returned to his great black ship, The Desolator, and set off.
When he made landfall a few weeks later, it was sunset, and the barren landscape he came upon didn't look very promising. He ordered his crew to wait on the ship as he grabbed his twin battleaxes and leapt off onto the shallow beach. He didn't spend long exploring this ugly brown land before he smelled the putrid stench of his most hated enemy. A bushy orange tail betrayed the location of his quarry.
"Come here, fox," he growled.
The frail creature looked up, its dainty wrists waggled as it spoke, "Oh my gahhhd! It's sooo nice when we get visitooors!"
An intense rage overcame Xarok at this pansy creature's attempt at communication. His eyes glowed brightly as he unhooked his axes from his armor, and he made toward the abomination. "You. Your kind is a blight upon canines everywhere. You must be purged."
A look of shock flashed upon the fox's face as it began to emit a high-pitched, rather feminine scream. It raised its paws as Xarok's left-hand axe struck down, messily shearing the right arm from its torso. It barely had time to register what was happening as Xarok brought his other axe to bear, splitting the abhorrent being's head, right between its big fuzzy ears.
Xarok turned back to his ship, and howled for a raiding party to join him. Tonight they would cleanse the earth of another den of putrid filth.
(Fun fact: Xarok upgraded his armor slightly, in order to keep with the times.)
