Buck (not Hopper, but the father in this pic) didn't really think much of his cousin Garrett when he left the family burrows and a good future in the fields to take a job in the city. He could have used his cousin's help raising their family, which in time would reach thirty kits. And it didn't seem sensible to leave home just to be some office assistant for an expansion team in a league that didn't have any rabbits in it anyway.
But then Buck Hopper joined the team. And then the team was making the playoffs. And then Garrett wasn't an office assistant anymore, but vice president of basketball operations.
And man, could he get good seats.

Wonderful characterizations all 'round.
I esp. enjoy how the little doe is holding her paws up to her head the way little girls often do when excited. Also, the one little buck who wore his jersey backwards is just entirely too cyoot. And don't think I didn't smile at the dropped sign there on the floor.
The whole family is reacting as if they got put up on the Titantron.

That girl's pose really grabbed me, too. It seems so genuine. It didn't even occur to me until C-Cat explained it to me that she was covering her ears because of all the noise.
And that's an awesome thought, old man! I was trying to figure out exactly was going on for a while, but I think you're right. There must be a break in play or something-- and just maybe the cameras have turned to the bunny family, putting them up on the big screen.

"We have a time out, and--well, look at this family right there at courtside. having a great time at the game, and can't you tell who their favorite player is?"
"Yes, indeed, Carl. That one little buck even wore his jersey the *right* way, just in case anyone had any doubts. That's one good poppa buck right there."
"Family fun at a thrust game. Beats sitting home watching it on the TV. Although Poppa Buck should probably spring for some earplugs for that pretty lass. I imagine our rowdy games are a bit hard on those delicate ears."
"If the Thrust hold their lead, I bet it'll be just as loud in the car, all the way home!"
