had this idea for a species in my universe an alien race of anteater thing creatures that travel the galaxy raiding other planets.. That is their identity a warrior race. They often dawn feathers that fall to their backs and carry a whip made of scales , it is their obligation to protect other members of their community, the Iktome have a code of honor for battle and daily life if they fail to bring honor to their family they will have bad luck or die. they speak Siouan related languages. the Ikotme are divided by thousands of bands throughout the universe, their origin is unknown to even themselves, the most settled being the saiyah empire who live on the planet wi. however it is far from their place of origin. most Iktome bands are nomadic by nature, their travels being determined by the migrations of the Tatanka they hunt for sustenance. dispute their warrior exterior the Iktome have a great deal of respect for all living things. often measuring honor based on how well they treat others and venerating the spirits of the animals they eat . they are very mindful of using natural resources. taking more then they need would be disrespectful to the ecosystem. The Iktome are also sexually dimorphic. The males look a lot different then the females. usually when this is the case their tends to be a decent amount of competition for mates witch relates to the elk horns. the females are counter to the males in social behavior making sure balance is maintained within the community. They also have a lot of fun zoology I make up as I go along such as the ability to survive in the vacuum of space. although this drawing is a little unfinished it serves the purpose of introducing the species
